Rural communities of Mexico and Central America
To inform the community on the economic benefits that healthy ecosystem services produce and educate them on the cost-benefit calculation of contaminated water from inadequate waste water management provides one of the greatest health challenges restricting development and increasing poverty through costs to health care and lost labor productivity.
Fluviales de Vida is a non-profit, social change, civic organization established in 2007 in San Miguel de Allende, Gto. Mexico that promotes sustainable economic growth and rural development with an emphasis on improving social, environmental, and economic conditions for people living in rural Mexico and Central America.
Goals and Objectives
Our goal is to create a network of financially independent, democratically and women powered, environmentally focused, and community-driven rural education centers with extension education capabilities to guide the management of natural resources with the guiding principle of conserving biodiversity and ensuring sustainable livelihoods for the rural population.
