Village Earth, CSU’s department of Anthropology, and Reflexive Films will be premiering “Rezonomics” a documentary on the eclectic and inventive survival strategies of residents of one of the most impoverished and marginalized areas of the United States, the Pine Ridge Reservation, SD. The 49 minute film will be premiering at 7:00pm at the Lory Student Center Cinema on the Campus of Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Co. Immediately following the film will be a panel discussion with the filmakers, residents from the Pine Ridge Reservation, and Dr. Kathleen Pickering, Professor of Anthropology at CSU. GSLL 1514 – Challenges and Opportunities of Utilizing Traditional Knowledge in Climate Adaptation
This class will explore key concepts of resilience, vulnerability, adaptive capacity and social capital in the context of community exposure to climate change. We will engage in critical analysis of tools and methods for building resilience to climate change and will look at several case studies from around the world.
